River Ridge track runs at Bulldog Relays

With 77 points, the River Ridge boys’ track and field team tied for first place at last Thursday’s Bulldog Relays held in Boscobel.

The Timberwolves finished tied with Prairie du Chien for the team title, while both teams finished 22 points ahead of the third-place team from Cuba City, The Timberwolves also finished first in four events and second in one.

Taking top honors in the pole vault competition and establishing a new meet record by nearly two feet was the duo of Ren Bowen (13’6”) and Luke Breuer (12’0”), while Breuer (18’8.75) also teamed up with Lane Copsey (17’3”) and Colton Crubel (15’10.25”) to win the long jump title.

Taking top honors in the 4x200 (1:34.68) was the relay team of Breuer, Copsey, Preston Gage and Kameren Reynolds, while Breuer, Gage, Reynolds and Bowen also finished first in the 800 sprint medley (1:41.34). Copsey, Bowen, Gage and Reynolds also finished second in the 4x100 (:46.30).

On the girls’ side, the Timberwolves scored 58 points to finish fourth of 10 teams, while also finishing first in two events and second in one.

Taking top honors in the 800 sprint medley relay (2:01.35) were Stella Breuer, Alaina Clark, Eden Thornton and Ava Nies, while McKenzie Taylor (8’6”) and Lindsay Burmeister (7’0”) tied for first in the pole vault competition.

Taking second in the 4x200 (1:54.87) were Nies, Clark, Thornton and Taylor.
