Dwane L. Quick, age 83, passed away in Sun Prairie on April 1, 2026. He was born on Oct. 6, 1942 in Prairie du Chien, the son of Russell and Ivanelle (Hill) Quick. He attended and graduated from Patch Grove High School. Dwane bravely served in U.S. Army and went on to work for General Motors for 30 years. It was because of his job that he met the love of his life, Dianna. The two married on Aug. 2, 1970.
Dwane and Dianna lived primarily in Janesville. Here, Dwane spent many years building his career and his life. He dedicated himself to his role with a strong work ethic until his retirement on April 1, 1994. He will be remembered for his perseverance, quiet strength and the determination he showed throughout his life, particularly when facing health challenges that limited his abilities in later years.
Despite these challenges, he found joy in the things he loved. He enjoyed woodworking, often creating pieces with care and craftmanship, as well as spending time reading and working on the computer. He was very handy, able to fix just about anything. He also found excitement and entertainment in trips to the casino. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dwane is survived by his beloved wife, Dianna Quick; brother, Ben Quick; sisters, Dora (Elgie) Rewey and Ruth Redman; brothers-in-law, Ben (Diane) Olson and Terry (Angie) Olson; and numerous other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ivanelle Quick; brother, Bernard Quick; brothers-in-law: Dick Redman, Richard Olson, and Michael Olson; parents-in-law, Ruth and Oleaner Olson; and sisters-in-law, Joan Olson and Judy Olson.
Per Dwane’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Burial will be held at Union Nagel Cemetery at a later date. Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family. For online condolences and guestbook, please visit: www.schneiderfuneraldirectors.com.
