Royals finish undefeated in RVC

The Seneca Royals Volleyball Team started off their homecoming week traveling to take on the Weston Silver Eagles for a pink night.  The Royals went into the match 12-0 in conference.  The Royals pushed through on set one winning 25-18.  Gaining momentum into sets two and three winning 25-13 and 25-9.

Leading the way for the Royals was Anne Manning with 14 kills followed by Lily Payne with 8 and Raya Wallin with 5.  Strong serving on the night from the team at 96% and recording 17 aces as a team.  Setting up the hitters was Addison Davidson with 22 assists on the night. Leading the defense was libero Emma Manning with 24 digs followed by Davidson with 11 and L. Payne with 10.

The next night Seneca hosted the second place team in conference with a 11-1 record with visiting De Soto Pirates. If Seneca won, they would win the conference outright and if not they would tie with De Soto.

Seneca came into the match with high hope of securing an outright title. Seneca’s strong offense proved to be too much for De Soto in set one and the Royals won 25-17.  The Royals found themselves down in set two with a score of 20-22 but  their grit and never give up play allowed them to come back and win set two 25-23.

Set three began with the Royals trailing 8-1 before fighting back to tie the set up at 13-13. The Royals were unable to take the lead and eventually lost set three 25-20. The Royals started the fourth set strong from the start and never gave up the lead as they pulled away to win the set 25-20 and the match three sets to one.

As a team, Seneca had a serving percentage of 96 percent.  The Royals were led on offense by Anne Manning with 21 kills. followed by a season high 16 kills from L. Payne. Davidson, who had a season high 43 assists on the night, also had her 2,000th career assist.  This is a remarkable feat for any setter and also set a new Seneca school record. Leading the defense was libero Emma Manning with 26 digs followed by L. Payne with 17.

With this win, the Royals ended conference play with a record of 14-0 and as the 2025 Ridge and Valley Champions.
