Competing at the Ithaca/Weston Invite last Saturday, the River Ridge wrestling team finished ninth of 10 teams, scoring 60 points with seven wrestlers.
Leading the Timberwolves with a third-place finish in the 215-pound weight class was junior Braden Skaife, who went 2-2 on the day and scored a team-high 15 points.
Scoring 14 points for the Timberwolves was 126-pound senior Cam Wehrle, who finished fourth with a record of 2-3, while 157-pound junior Cael Koenig scored 13 points with his fifth-place finish and record of 3-2.
Earning sixth-place finishes for the Timberwolves were freshman Axel Morrow, who went 0-5 in the 132-pound bracket, and sophomore Logan Callahan, who went 1-3 at 190 pounds. Junior Emery Simerson went 2-3 on the day to finish seventh in the 175-pound bracket, while freshman Luke Wehrle went 0-5 to finish eighth in the 144-pound bracket.
This Thursday night the Timberwolves will compete at Pecatonica, then will be at Arcadia on Saturday.
