Competing at the Scenic Ridge Conference Duals last Thursday evening, coach Brad Lange’s River Ridge wrestling team went 1-5 in six dual meets.

The lone win for the Timberwolves came against De Soto, where they scored 39 points on five forfeits, one pin and one decision, while giving up 18 points on three forfeits.

Picking up the lone pin for River Ridge was 120-pound freshman Axel Morrow, while 190-pound junior Braden Skaife picked up a 4-1 decision in his match.

In a 48-12 loss to Ithaca/Weston, the Timberwolves scored their only points on a pair of forfeits, while giving up five forfeits and three pins. There were also four double forfeits in the match.

Against Pecatonica/Argyle, the Timberwolves were handed a 48-21 loss, scoring on three pins and one decision, while giving up six forfeits and two pins.

Picking up pins for the Timberwolves were 144-pound freshman Luke Wehrle, 175-pound junior Emery Simerson and Skaife at 190 pounds, while 157-pound junior Cael Koenig picked up a 6-2 decision in his match.

In a 39-30 loss to North Crawford, River Ridge scored all their points on five forfeits, while giving up five forfeits, one technical fall and one major decision to the Trojans.

In another close match with Black Hawk, the Timberwolves scored 30 points on three pins and two forfeits, but gave up 35 points on five forfeits and one technical fall.

Pins for the Timberwolves were collected by Luke Wehrle at 144 pounds, Simerson at 175 pounds and Skaife at 190 pounds.

In their final dual meet of the evening, coach Lange’s squad finished with a 42-24 loss to Kickapoo, where they gave up five forfeits and two pins, while collecting three forfeits and one pin by Skaife.

Skaife finished the night with a perfect record of 6-0 with three pins, two forfeits and one decision, while Koenig went 5-1 with four pins and one decision.

Going 4-2 on the night were Axel Morrow, Luke Wehrle and Emery Simerson, while Cam Wehrle went 2-4 and Lane Marshall 2-0 with two forfeits.
