PdC wrestles at Mineral Point girls triangular

The Prairie du Chien girls wrestling team was back on the mats last Friday, Jan. 30 when they traveled to Mineral Point for a rescheduled triangular dual meet with the host Pointers and Mount Horeb/Barneveld.

The Hawks faced off with the Mount Horeb/Barneveld co-op first and were defeated 24-12. Picking up wins for the Hawks was Kylee Langdon at 114 pounds and Lyla Redman at 145 pounds.

The second dual of the night for the Hawks pitted them against the host Pointers and it was the hosts earning the dual win as they defeated the Hawks 36-18. Alyseia Schnitzler got the Hawks on the board first with a pinfall victory in 4:44 over Mineral Point senior Breken Blackford-Hesselberg at 100 pounds. Sophomore Hannah Ingham earned the Hawks second win of the dual at 126 pounds with a pin of Pointer senior Ella Wilson in 5:37.

Junior Britney Petsche earned the Hawks third and final win of the dual with a pin of Mineral Point junior Emily Heisner in 1:47 at 165 pounds.

Prairie du Chien will host Onalaska this Thursday night at 5:00 p.m. as part of senior night/parents’ night festivities before heading to Boscobel the following night for the girls Clash Tournament and then to Richland Center on Saturday to conclude the week with the Richland Center Girls Invitational starting at 9 a.m.
