Coming off a season in which they went 24-3, won a share of their fifth consecutive conference championship and reached the D3 sectional semifinal round, the Prairie du Chien Blackhawks girls basketball team entered the 2025–26 season in a new division (D4), with new faces on the roster and plenty of questions after graduating a talented senior class.

One game doesn’t answer every question, but the Hawks took a big step in finding out those answers last Friday night, Nov. 21, when they defeated the La Crosse Logan Rangers 44-27 at the PdC Field House.

Prairie du Chien took an early lead, extending it to 19-2 before Logan used a small run late in the first half as the Hawks ended up taking a 21-11 lead into halftime. The second half also belonged to the Hawks as they earned a 44-27 victory to begin the season 1-0. 

Leading the way for the Hawks was junior Karly Kramer, who put together a solid double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds (11 of those being defensive rebounds) while also adding four steals and three assists. Sophomore Kristin Nolan added 10 points and eight rebounds. Juniors Camryn Knapp (eight points and three rebounds), Claire Kennedy (seven points and eight rebounds) and Emory Campbell (one point) rounded out the scoring totals for the Hawks.

Prairie du Chien is now off until Tuesday, Dec. 2 when they host Fennimore at 6 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the boys team.
