Hawks drop trio of basketball games
Sam Kramer buzzer beating shot vs Westby

Coming off a week in which they only had one game on the schedule, the Prairie du Chien boys basketball teams faced three games in five days last week.

First up for the Hawks a visit from the Westby Norse last Tuesday, Jan. 27. The Hawks managed to send that game into halftime tied  20 to 20 thanks a crazy four-point play by senior Sam Kramer that somewhat resembled a famous four-point in the 1999 NBA Playoffs by Knicks forward Larry Johnson against the Indiana Pacers.

The Norse’s shooting warmed up just enough in the second half to put some space between them and the Hawks as Westby pulled away for a 53-37 win.

The Hawks were back on the road two nights later when they traveled to Platteville. The host Hillmen jumped out to a 38-11 halftime lead before earning a 72-25 win over the Hawks.

Prairie du Chien ended their week two days later when they hit the road to Barneveld as part of a doubleheader with the girls teams and were dealt a 66-30 loss.

Final stats for all three games were not available as of press time.

PdC fell to 1-16 overall and 0-6 in the SWC with the trio of losses.

The Hawks road game at Westfield that was scheduled for this past Saturday evening was postponed to a future date.

Prairie du Chien is back home this week with a pair of home games against Richland Center on Friday, Feb. 6. and Wauzeka-Steuben on Saturday, Feb. 7 with game times both nights scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
