The Prairie du Chien girls basketball team opened up last week by hosting the Decorah Vikings last Tuesday, Feb. 10 before traveling to Platteville three nights later.
First up was the visiting Vikings, who jumped out to a 42-10 halftime lead before claiming a 72-33 win over the Hawks.
Prairie du Chien ended the week by traveling to Platteville for their last road SWC game of the season. The Hillmen led 46-11 at halftime before earning a 73-22 win.
Stats for both games were not available as of press time. Prairie du Chien fell to 3-18 overall and 1-8 in the SWC with the loss.
Following last night’s non-conference battle at Mineral Point, the Hawks wrap up the regular season this Friday night vs. Richland Center at 7:00 p.m.
WIAA girls Basketball postseason brackets were revealed this past Sunday and the Hawks earned the no. 8 seed in their bracket and a first-round home game against the no. 9 seed Iowa-Grant Panthers on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7:00 p.m.
The winner of that game will travel to Pardeeville on Friday, Feb. 27 to face the no. 1 seed Bulldogs in a D4 regional semifinal matchup.
