Judith L. “Judi” Rogness, 83, of West Salem, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at Morrow Home Community in Sparta.
She was born Feb. 18, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to Shirley (Powell) Taylor and Allen Harmon and attended Prairie du Chien High School.
On Feb. 13, 1965, Judi married David Rogness and to this union, two children, Jeff and Jennifer, were born.
Judi had an endless list of crafting superpowers; the crafts she conquered are endless: painting, macrame, ceramics, crocheting, quilting, stained glass, cross stitch, latch hook, sewing, and cooking. Her other interests included gardening, reading, the Green Bay Packers, movies (she never saw a bad one), and being a professional motorcycle stunt driver.
More than anything, Judi treasured her family. Her love for Jeff and Jennifer was boundless, and with the arrival of her grandchildren, her heart grew even fuller, embracing each of them with deep affection and joy. She gave the best hugs that her family will greatly miss.
Survivors include her two children, Jeff (Stephany) Rogness and Jennifer (Kent) Flock; four grandchildren, Sydney and Samantha Rogness and Elise and Aubrey Flock; and one brother, Jim Taylor.
Judi was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 17, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 359 N. Leonard St., West Salem. Pastor Jonathan and Pastor Jean Schmidt will officiate. Burial followed in Hamilton Cemetery, West Salem.
Should friends or family wish to honor Judi’s memory, memorials may be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Jostad Chapel, West Salem, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.FredricksonFuneralHomes.com
